My 1st ‘finished’ Painting

Many many years ago a friend convinced me that I could paint a painting for her she pushed until I finally said yes I would do it. Many months later I was in my art space and my mentor and friend OleSkool was watching me repaint the face for the fifth time put his hand on my shoulder and said “It’s finished” I had no idea what he was talking about I looked at him like he was crazy. I started going on about the glaze and the color he told me to just show it to her if she didn’t like it I could keep working on it. Well she liked it as she saw it. LOL

It looks better than what I remember but certainly not finished. They say that artist need police to stop them from ruining or over working their artwork and I would need to be one of the first to sign up.

When I asked her what I could paint for her she told me that she liked earth tones, Jazz, and the Saxaphone I think I may have used the photo of Charlie Parker below as a model.

I followed this painting up with a Charlie Mingus and Billie Holiday both are in storage . . . I hope. I’m not 100% sure but if when I find them I’ll post them to be seen.
